What we offer
We offer 3- and 5-day training courses where participants are trained in all aspects of OpendTect. A range of cutting edge techniques is explored: seismic attribute analysis, seismic object detection (fault detection, fluid migration / chimney detection), seismic clustering, seismic filtering and data enhancements, and sequence stratigraphy. Training manuals and a data set from the Dutch North Sea are all provided.
The standard training can be customized by putting more emphasis on a specific subject of interest or by extending the training with consultancy work. Typically, an extended course takes 5 days: one day preparation / set-up / testing, two days training on the test data set and two days work on proprietary data sets. At the end of the week the participants are fully trained in OpendTect and plugins and they have generated various OpendTect products on their own data sets.

OpendTect training in Houston, Calgary, Buenos Aires
dGB offers regular training courses for OpendTect at their office in Houston, as well as through dGB’s agents in Calgary and Buenos Aires. For OpendTect users there are three types of training classes available, each with different objectives and experience levels. All classes are instructed by skilled OpendTect specialists working for dGB or its partners. Next to the regular classes, it is possible request a customized class tailored to a specific objective(s).
OpendTect training in Enschede
We have scheduled a training course on Advanced Seismic Interpretation in OpendTect. This 5-day seismic interpretation training course starts with a 3-day OpendTect introductory training followed by two days work on our new plugin e.g. HorizonCube.
In the introductory course participants are trained in all aspects of OpendTect. A range of cutting edge techniques is explored: seismic attribute analysis, seismic object detection (fault detection, fluid migration / chimney detection), neural network clustering, seismic filtering and data enhancement, seismic inversion and sequence stratigraphic interpretation. Participants will learn background theories and see examples from all over the world. However, the emphasis is on hands-on training. Participants will perform exercises on a 3D seismic data set from the Dutch North Sea.
We offer short-term on-site consultancy services in all domains of our expertise. We prefer to do larger scale projects in-house, where we have all resources to create the best possible results for our clients. Long-term consultancy services can often be arranged through our network of OpendTect consultants.
We also provide training in OpendTect plugin development. Such training courses are organized ad hoc and are tailored to the client's needs. Participants need to have programming skills (C++).
