The upcoming OpendTect 2026 release introduces a number of significant technical improvements aimed at scalability, interoperability, deployment flexibility, and workflow efficiency.

In this webinar, we will walk through the key architectural and workflow changes in detail, including the reasoning behind several core design decisions and how they impact day-to-day interpretation and data management workflows. Topics include: βœ… New HDF5-based well data storage architecture βœ… Expanded import/export support for industry-standard formats βœ… Improved VDS handling with cloud and compression support βœ… Redesigned installer for managing multiple OpendTect installations βœ… Extensions to the ODBind Python API βœ… General performance, usability, and deployment improvements

We will also continue these technical discussions during our upcoming in-person Aberdeen user meeting around EAGE. Rather than focusing on exhibition presence, we are organizing a smaller technical session centered on architecture, workflows, interpretation strategy, and future development direction within OpendTect. πŸ“… Monday, 8 June 2026 πŸ•™ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (UK Time) πŸ“ Leonardo Hotel Aberdeen Union Square Guild Square, Aberdeen AB11 5RG
