We describe a Machine Learning Seismic Classification workflow in which the thousands of class labels needed for training a deep graph are automatically generated from just a handful of manually picked seed positions. The class labels are generated by a Thalweg tracker. Paul de Groot will give a live demo of the Thalweg tracker and the Machine Learning classification workflow. To top it off he will also show the new paintbrush tool.

The slider shows a Machine Learning classification example in which a CNN model is trained on Thalweg tracker inputs. The V-shape features on the seismic section are perpendicular cross-cuts through turbidite channels. The data is from the Taranaki Basin in New Zealand. We use the Thalweg tracker to track positive and negative edges of the channels on a two-pass gradient attribute volume.
